NIGHT OF THE BRIDE
NIGHT OF THE BRIDE
For Anshul, life is a journey. His world is a colourful, yet exquisitely sensitive tapestry of human emotions woven within the differing yet singular realms of fiction, non-fiction, commercials, and development work. And he straddles this entire spectrum with ease, shaping it through his primary craft - the eye and artistry of cinematography.
A graduate of Cinematography from the Satyajit Ray Film and TV Institute (SRFTI), he began his journey shooting independent Shorts, Features, and Documentaries. In 2018, his growing vision earned him a place at the Interdoc Masterclass in Serbia.
Since then, his work as a cinematographer has spanned diverse narratives. Thukra ke Mera Pyaar, a Disney+ Hotstar Special, broke platform records. Herd Walk, a documentary on a shepherding community in Karnataka, premiered at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) and featured in the ‘In Focus’ section of the International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFK).
He was behind the lens for the short, Night of the Bride, that went on to win 2023’s Jury’s Scariest Short at The Overlook Film Festival, one of the world’s leading genre events, and the Audience Award for Best Asian Short at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
More recently, he shot the indie feature Flames (Laptein), which had its Asian premiere at Jogja Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF).
